Georgia Veterans Golf Course at Lake Blackshear
2459 H Highway 280 W
Cordele, GA 31015-9341, United States

229.276.2377
Georgia Veterans rests quietly on the shores of Lake Blackshear. Architect Denis Griffiths has worked his magic once more to convert rich bottomland setting and turned it into a highly pleasing and challenging golf course. Mounds, water and plenty of sand define the holes and enhance the challenge. The Tif Dwarf Bermuda greens are large and sloping, but not tiered. They putt as smooth as glass. The wide Tif 419 fairways wind through mounds and stands of tall loblolly pines.

Course was fun except for the rough and the nates. Played from senior white tees first day and it played long for the eight of us. Sat we moved to the red tees for Sat and Sun. With all the rain they had been having and not being able to keep up the mowing the rough was brutal. Looking forward to going back. Will go to Stricklands across from park and get NoNatz for next trip to keep nates away. Great customer service in pro shop.

Early October is very nice. A little bit of a stronger breeze would help keep the gnats away, they can be a bit annoying.
