Golf history was made on "The Senator" course here on Sunday, September 18, 2011 when Lexi Thompson because the youngest-ever winner (age 16) of an LPGA event. She took the Navistar LPGA Classic with a 5-shot margin of victory -- even though she still had not yet gained full LPGA membership.
Part of the RTJ Golf Trail, Capitol Hill GC offers three courses: The Judge, the Legislator, and the aforementioned Senator, which hosts the LPGA's annual Navistar Classic. The course name and titles reference nearby Montgomery, Alabama's capital city.
The Senator course itself echoes a traditional Scottish-style layout with over 150 bunkers and mounds ranging in height from 20 to 40 feet.
"The Legislator" is a more traditional parkland course, playing in and out of pine trees along a bluff. The view riding down the "Sky Bridge" for six holes laid out in a native cypress swamp is said to be impressive.
"The Judge" plays alongside 200 acres of Alabama River backwater. The first tee sits 200 feet above the fairway overlooking the Alabama River and the skyline of Montgomery. 14 holes adjoin the water, including a bulkhead island green. The club advertises "The Judge" as one of the most scenic courses in the South.

The RTJ Trails are second to none! Played the Judge Course and enjoyed every minute of it. The facility took on a lot of rain and the courses were in great shape still. Cart path only and had a great time anyway. Very challenging golf when you play RTJ's Courses. TY.

Played the Judge and it was fun, even if I didn't score well. Get the course book and follow the pro's suggestions and you will be OK. I would suggest you not play the tips until you at least play the course once. For a winter round in Feb after looking at 2 foot of snow since Dec, it's a great value!

Still in GREAT shape on 12/24/11 ! Greens still running true and pretty fast (espaecially in afternoon w/ Sun). Prob my "Favorite Course" on the Trail. Play from Orange and you've played the LPGA Tract (90%).

Breath taking! Absolute perfection in design. Every tee box, fairway and green on the Judge was an exciting and new surprise from hole to hole. We have played alot of different courses with a few highlights or trade mark holes but the Judge just continues to bring hole after hole new and spectacular settings. It was absolutely overwhelming that we had to keep coming back day after day and twice in one day in between meetings. Each day was just as good as the first and the course was maintained like a fine tuned instrument in every aspect. I can only imagine the maintenance and upkeep cost of the three courses. Averaging 7,800 yards between them (the Judge - 8,000 yards, Legislator 7,600 and Senator) the total yardage for a golf courses was big and to be this well maintained day in and day out was awesome. The only suggestion I could even attempt to offer is to have the cart paths markd for each tee box location so you could more easily find the right tee box. Most if not all the tee boxes were elevated so a lot of hunting and pecking. But each tee box offered a view that was so dynamically different than the other that it sort of makes it worth the hunting and pecking. We rank these RTJ courses at the The Capitol in the top three being number one (1). golf buddy rate this

As usual, a fine time had by all at this RTJ course. Have yet to be disappointed by one of the RTJ courses. Greens in excellent shape, and course is outstanding condition!

One of the better public courses available. The RTJ Trail is a must if your looking for a golf get away. Plays tough from the tips. Greens were well maintained and were running about 11.
