SentryWorld, located in Stevens Point, WI, is a par 72, 6,951 yard course designed by world famous golf architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Dominating the landscape are 35 acres of spring-fed lakes, native birch, green pines and five acres of flowerbeds. Throughout three playing seasons SentryWorld is truly a golfer's dream.
Each of the 18 holes was carefully sculpted from 200 acres of flat central Wisconsin wilderness and carefully developed into a rolling lake-filled course. Visitors often ask about the imposing boulders lining the creeks and surrounding the lakes. They were blasted from the bedrock when the lakes were created.
Playing SentryWorld is always a captivating Wisconsin wilderness adventure. It's not uncommon to see deer darting across the fairway or a flock of geese gathering in the surrounding lakes. And with five different tees to choose from on each hole, playing SentryWorld can be as wild or tame as you want it to be. For all who visit, SentryWorld will be nothing short of memorable.

First the good parts.
Very Scenic, beautiful layout. It would be worth it just for the cart fee. The only drawback is the highway on the outside edge of the course. The constant drone of traffic takes away from the serenity on a few holes. The course is set on basically a flat piece of land, very little elevation change.
Staff was very pleasant and helpful, gave me the feeling of a high end hotel.
Bev cart service was excellent, about every 3 or 4 holes.
Pace of Play was great, except for the idiots who jumped the tee time behind us by 5 minutes and were on top of our group on the first hole. Never saw them again after that.
Disclaimer for the last 2 items - We had one of the first tee times, so pace of play and Bev cart could have been effected by this fact.
Maintenance - Was very good except the greens were aerated. Bunkers were in great shape, except they were somewhat wet and packed. A few had to many larger stones that would wreck your clubs, however. Greens were large and seemed to have a lot of breaks.
My biggest complaint on the design was the bunkering. Countless giant bunkers everywhere. I thought it overkill. It seemed like every single errant shot was penalized in a bunker.

Too many holes hidden holes. This is a course you need to play a lot to learn where to hit the ball. Back 9 several gotcha holes, blind tee shots, hidden hazards etc.
