In 1960, televised golf held it first national program at this club, then known as DeSoto Lakes Country Club. More history was made here in December of 2014, when the PGA of America's oldest member, 103-year-old Gus Andreone, became the oldest American to score a hole-in-one when he sank his tee-shot at the par-3 14th hole on the Lakes course.
When this private club debuted in 1957 as Desoto Lakes Country Club, the course was designed by the notable architect Dick Wilson. Now known as the Champions course, the 6,984-yard layout was joined in 1982 by the Joe Lee-designed Lakes course.

Played this course last year and the greens weren't that good, but this year the greens are remarkably fast this year, a great challenge for all handicaps.

As this is a "housing development" course, my expectations weren't as high. But, on all counts, overdelivered. From the friendly staff to very well maintained course in hot summer, a great time. With 7000 yard course, plenty of challenge, but fair. A great play for the area!
