Designed by nationally recognized golf course architect Rick Jacobson, Morningstar traverses continual elevation changes throughout the course. These elevation changes are the key component of a layout with virtually no level lies. This beautiful "up and down" transition takes each golfer on a wonderful journey through diverse holes that will test every club in the bag and demand a great deal of imagination. The trademark of Mr. Jacobson's work is his unique ability to blend his designs into their natural setting and Morningstar is no exception. Each and every hole is in harmony with its natural surroundings and appears as if it's always been their to play. Mature stands of Hickory, Maple, Oak, Poplar, and stately Pine quietly define the player's journey.
In addition to the beautiful elevation changes (some well over a hundred feet), Morningstar features "target golf" in a subtle sort of way. Shots must be played to landing areas flanked by strategically placed bunkers, mounds, depressions, and "transition areas". Wild flowers and grass plantings add to the natural setting and water comes into play on five holes. The design emphasizes the "risk-reward" concept where a bold shot played well is rewarded and a bold shot played poorly is punished. However, the design also allows for "optional" routes to be taken from tee to green. This, combined with its natural setting, and marvelous vistas makes Morningstar a gathering place for true golf enthusiasts!

Played this course for the first time and liked the elevation changes and conditions were very good. The value was nice when I played.

Course is extremely scenic, and in great shape. While it is a nice course there are other equally rated courses that are a better value. $21 per rider for a no frills power cart? come on man!

Played for the first time recently. Great variety of shots, I found myself using almost every club in the bag. Good deal for a Friday morning ($44 for 18 & cart) but drinks were ridiculous. Soda was $2 for a can - who sells cans to people driving golf carts?
Don't expect to walk this course, a lot of big elevation changes and many long stretches between holes.
Our twosome finished in 3.5 hours (not sure if this is normal or not).
Greens were hard and fast though they had some blotchy mud spots on the first nine, otherwise the course was in great shape (minus the tee boxes that were a little uneven and shaggy).
