Located at Lower Gustard Wood west of Welwyn Garden City, this course debuted in 1892, with a layout designed by local residents Charles Thom George Wren. Five-time Open champion James Braid advised on some changes to the course when it was extended to 18 holes in 1923.
Visitors and societies are welcome, but advance booking is highly recommended. The standard visitor walking rates are £40/round or £50/day between April and October, then £25/day during the off-season (carts are £25). Memberships are also offered.
