This resort offers 63 holes of golf, most notably "The Classic." The story behind this course is a fascinating one; it was designed by course superintendent Scott Hoffmann, not some famous architect. Hoffmann did exceptionally well; Golf Digest named The Classic "Best New Upscale Public Course" in 1997 and still ranks it 33rd on their "Best Public Courses" list. Similarly, Golfweek ranks it eighth on their "Best Courses You Can Play" list for Minnesota.

The Pine Beach East course (1926) was designed by the Scot-turned-Kansan James Dalgleish and features a par-6 hole (#6). Since the course opened, the Madden family have had bunkers and water hazards added, along with rebuilt greens. Jim Madden, one of the co-founders of the resort, designed Pine Beach West in 1995; this executive-length course features a parkland-style layout.
