This parkland course is over 100 years old. Among the English Golf Union championships the club has most recently hosted held are the 2003 English Men's Senior, the 2005 English Amateur Match-Play, and the 2010 Cheshire Match-Play.

Visitors are welcome, the summer walking rates range are £45 on weekdays, £50 on weekends and bank holidays. Winter and shoulder-season rates are available, as are memberships. Societies and corporate groups are also welcome with prior arrangement.
