The Championship Course here has hosted a number of prestigious British events. Although local members Herbert Fowler and Hugh Alison, as well as Harold Hilton and the great Alistair Mackenzie, much of the course as it exists is the result of design work by Harry S. Colt.
The Channel Course opened in 1977, partly as a result of construction of a nearby motorway.
Visitors are welcome here, but must book in advance.

Great course and hospitality however we played on a very hot day so a drinks kart going round would be a big plus as ran out of drink by the 9th hole and no half way house and that was taking 3bottles on my round.
