Somewhat unusual for Arizona, Rio Verde has two traditional, well-grassed parkland-style courses, both of which originally opened in 1971 with designs by architect Milton Coggins and were later renovated by 1996 Open champion Tom Lehman and his design firm in a $6 million project.

Quail Run plays from 4,806 to 6,602 yards over gently rolling fairways and strategically-placed bunkers. Water is in play on eight holes, while the Tonto National Forest is visible from many holes on the second nine.

White Wing stretches from 4,672 to 6,535 yards at 6,234 yards and features a daunting 510-yard 10th hole with a long, ascending approach. Then, water is in play on the 11th, 12th and 13th holes. Lehman and his design firm renovated this course, which reopened in 2008.

The nine-hole Roadrunner course debuted in May of 2015.
