This long and demanding course was designed by Joe Finger and Ken Dye, with the late Byron Nelson consulting. It features water on all but two holes, most of which comes from Lake Houston. Of note here are two holes; the 13th hole, a 170-yard par-3 with an island green. Number 4 was used as the 18th hole for the "U.S. Open" scenes in the Kevin Costner film Tin Cup. The Deerwood Course also hosts the annual Champions Tour Doug Sanders Celebrity Classic.
