Bonmont is actually a former Cistercian abbey dating to 1738; it was converted into a hotel in 1979. It is located in Chéserex, part of the largely French-speaking canton of Vaud in extreme western Switzerland.

The 18-hole course itself is surrounded by the castle and the old abbey church. Architect Donald Harradine did the original design in 1982, while Peter Harradine oversaw some updates in 2003.

Visitors are welcome here on weekdays, but must book in advance. The visitor walking rate here is SFr 150 (appx €93); electric carts are SFr 25.
