The 18-hole seaside links course at Murcar dates to 1909 and a design by Archie Simpson, although five-time Open champion James Braid oversaw some alterations to the course. In recent years, architect Graeme J. Webster has made some further changes. Murcar has hosted a number of amateur and professional events, including the Scottish Amateur Strokeplay Championship.

Visitors are welcome; the rates on the Murcar course are £78/round or £95/day on weekdays, then £94/round on weekends. Advance booking is recommended.
