The first nine holes of GC Pfälzerwald opened in 2002; the remainder of the Championship 18 was finished in August of 2007 and features a blend of parkland and north-woods flavor. The 6-hole academy course debuted one month later.

Visitors are welcome; the non DGV-affiliated walking rates are €60 on weekdays, €80 on weekends. DGV members, members of clubs with reciprocal arrangements, students, juniors, and guests of members enjoy various discounts. The academy course is available on a pay-and-play basis at €10 on weekdays, €15 on weekends. Societies and groups are also welcome with prior arrangement.
