St. George's Golf & Country Club is an internationally-renowned Stanley Thompson design that is usually ranks the best in all of Canada and among the top 30 courses in the world. (It opened in 1928 as "Royal York Golf Club;" the name changed in 1946.) In June of 2015, the course completed reconstruction of all 18 greens to Thompson's original intent, with noted architects Tom Doak and Ian Andrew at the helm.

Not surprisingly, this course has hosted many important professional and amateur championship, including:

•  Canadian Open: 1933, 1949, 1960, 1968, 2010
•  Canadian Women's Open: 1975, 1978, 1980, 1982, and 1984
•  Canadian Senior Open: 1997

This is a private club; visitors are permitted only as invited guests of members.
