This scenic golf course was cut out of dense hardwoods and is located on the beautiful, rolling terrain of North Mecklenburg County . Strategic shot-making is the key to scoring at The Tradition, with its winding, tree-lined fairways.
The Tradition Golf Club opened for play in 1996. John Cassell, II has orchestrated a masterpiece of understated elegance with The Tradition. His layout manifests a harmonic blend of natural beauty and championship golf. The result is a majestic, tree-lined layout that delights the senses and thoroughly challenges all facets of the player's game.

Very nice Greens, some burn spots in a couple fairways but overall good shape

It's an average course with lots of potential to be great. The new ownership appears to be focusing on getting the course back in shape, although it was so far down it still has a way to go. Greens were in great shape, fairways are good and getting better, the traps, rough, and tees still have a lot more work needed.

Awful greens, especially considering it was May and not even hot yet. It appears this course used to be better maintained but not just let whatever grass grow wherever it wants to. The layout isn't very good either and it seems like every hole on the front nine is the same.

Tees and fairways were ok. Greens were soft and receptive. On the slow side with several bad spots. Rough is high so watch where your ball goes carefully. Pace of play was horrible. Had a guy in the group in front of us constantly on the phone. \"Ranger Bob\" did nothing to remedy the situation. Teed off at 8:30 and took over 5hrs to play.
