Golf has been played at this site at least since the year 1562, although the first club was formed in 1810 and the Medal Course underwent a formal design by Willie Park Jr in 1903. Both the seaside Medal Course and the early-20th century Broomfield Course are now operated by Montrose Golf Links Ltd.

Superb links course with great greens. Perhaps some faiways could have been better and the clubhouse is very dated but all in all a 90%.
