Two courses are at this club, which was founded in 1933 as part of a large estate and 17th-century mansion house.
CAWDER COURSE:
Five-time Open champion James Braid did the original design of this course, which opened in 1934, although numerous redesigns and reconstructions have occurred since then. The second rebuild took place between 1965 and 1971, while the most recent reconstruction began in 1981. Some of the original holes still exist, while practice areas and holes are available.
KEIR COURSE:
After the club opened, enough demand existed for another 18-holes, so James Braid was asked to design this course, which debuted in 1937. Unlike the Cawder Course, the Kier Course has remained largely intact since it opened.
Both layouts feature a classical "out-and-back" design where the 9th and 10th holes are on the far reaches of the property. Interestingly, the Kier Course's 9th and 10th holes are consecutive par-3s - an interesting design quirk.
This club apparently allows visitor (public) play, although rates are not posted on their web site.

Only rated value as a 1 because it was a team match so no charge, overall course was in great condition, fairways generous, greens were very good and overall course very tidy, was told new Head greenkeeper not long ago and seems to be doing all the correct things.
