The original 9-hole design here was by Philadelphia-based William F. Gordon. Edmund B. Ault designed the second nine, while Dan Schlegel has overseen further course renovations. Ruggles is a relatively short course, fairly flat, ideal for walking, and generally well maintained. The course gets crowed at times and the pace of play affected, marshalls could regulate play a little better. Many of the holes are challenging butvif you can stay in the short grass and away from the trees you can have a solid round. The greens are nicely maintained and the putts generally roll true.
