This club opened more than a century ago with nine holes, while the second nine opened in 1995 with a design by Declan Brannigan and former Ryder Cup member Des Smyth. In 2005, the 11th hole was rebuilt, including a new green designed by Eddie Connaughan.

Visitors are welcome here; the walking rates are €20 weekdays and €30 on weekends and holidays. Societies are also welcome with advance arrangement.

Although the town of New Ross is in Wexford County, the course itself is about 1km away and actually lies in County Kilkenny.
