This private club is located in a district of Riverhead known as Baiting Hollow, and was designed by the "traditionalist" architecture team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. The name of the course comes from a sand formation located on the North Shore. Interestingly, no hole measurements are included on the scorecard, although the Metropolitan Golf Association has assigned slope-and-ratings for the course nonetheless.
