Town Moor is my home course.
The course is a great all-year-round course, always on full greens and tees.
The greens are excellent all year round, the course is renowned for the greens.
The fairways are well kept and give a good surface to approach from.
The rough has been cut down somewhat this year, less lost balls but it's difficult to play out of.
The course is essentially flat, short and tight, it is a good test of golf with 5 par 3's and 2 par 5's. Many visitors look at the short scorecard and think they'll murder the course only to find shooting their handicap would have been a very good day.
The clubhouse is on the other side of Bawtry road and a long walk to the 1st tee, but once you're on the course it's very enjoyable.
Pace of play is good and a competition round is usually around 3 hours 45 mins.
For a course inside a racecourse the trees are very mature and this gives a woodland feel to most holes. (Please see the photos I have posted on here).
Green fees for visitors have been reduced this year for visitors and twilight is especially good value.
Food and drinks very reasonably priced.

Assured of proper tees and greens all year round, as its sand based. Not as easy as it looks!
