This course opened in 1900 with nine holes and was extended to eighteen holes in 1907. The layout of the course has been radically changed several times, but the present layout has largely remained unaltered since the mid-1970s. The terrain is rolling, but not exhausting.

Usually, consecutive par-3s on a course are very rare, but at West Bradford, holes 4 and 5, and 14 and 15 are par-3s. From the red tees, three consecutive par-5s are on holes 6 through 8.
