The course dates back to the 1930's when the first nine holes were constructed (presently the back nine). The second nine holes were added in the1960's. The front nine is shorter than the back, but its fairways are narrower. Water comes into play on five holes over the course. The greens are small but undulating. The course is short by modern standards but it is deceptively tough. The course was originally called the Greenbrier Valley Country Club until its purchase by the BPOE and was then renamed in 1985.
