St Enodoc's Church course is a James Braid design that enjoys a justified reputation as one of the West Country's finest links layouts. At 6547 yards it is not long by today's standards yet strangely the new course record is 65, only 4 under par so it is far from a push over. It is often said that many links courses are easy if there is no wind - even St. Andrews - but somehow that really does not apply to St Enodoc.
The Church Course has changed hardly at all since Bernard Darwin wrote his description shortly before the Second World War. In 2004 a review by Peter McEvoy of the course has resulted in the some new fairway bunkers being established and some additional tees and a new 13th green has been built and in 2007 the considerably lengthened Par 5 now 560 yards long was opened. Golfers today still play the course essentially as laid out by James Braid - a tremendous tribute to that great golfer's vision and skill as it has stood the test of time even with the enormous changes in clubs and balls in the last seventy years.
For visitors, men will be asked to produce a handicap certificate of 24 or less and ladies 28. Why do we insist upon it? We feel that with the type of terrain of the course a player needs to have reached a reasonable standard of play in order to relish the course to the full. Players who struggle will certainly go home disappointed and besides will probably have held up a lot of frustrated players behind them.

Greens had recently been hollow tined, but the booking staff were up front about it and the greens still putted better than 90% of courses you will play. Very good condition. My only complaint being that I teed off early and went fast to stay ahead of a womans weekly comp. They then decided to only play 12 holes and skip from the 9th to the 16th tee. My last 3 holes took c45 mins (as a 1 ball). Fairly annoying.

As a 21 H/c I liked the course, I would play this course again. But it is only winter so winter prices! Great course

Beautiful golf course through scenic Cornish countryside. Very interesting and varied holes...difficult but very pleasurable.

Out of the two courses close to us (Trevose GC & St Enodoc) I'd choose to play at St Enodoc, even though Trevose is a 2 minute walk from where we stay.
