While the course dates to 1903, the current parkland-style layout dates to 1924 and a design by the legendary architect Seth Raynor. Blue Mound G&CC has hosted several important tournaments and events over the years, including:

1933 PGA Championship (Gene Sarazen)
1940 Women's Western Open (Babe Didrickson)
1955 Milwaukee Open Invitational (Dr. Cary Middlecoff)
2011 co-host of men's US Amateur with Erin Hills
