Designed by J. H. Turner, the then-professional at Frilford Heath Golf Club, the first nine holes of Burford course were opened for play in May of 1936, while the second nine debuted on September 30, 1937. The course was used for farming during World War II, then restored in 1949. At that time, the course was wide-open, although a tree-planting program has transformed Burford into a charming parkland-style course.
Visitors are welcome on various days at various times, so advance booking is essential. The morning walking rate is £36, while the afternoon rate is £28. Societies are also welcome with prior arrangement.

I have played this course a few times now and never fail to be impressed by it. The greens are always in great condition and so are the fairways. It is a tight course with lots of trees so a good test of your game. Can't wait to play it again.

I am a member of Burford and always love playing the course. It's a beautifully maintained traditional course with very true greens, well tended bunkers and lined with very mature trees.

This course is just lovely and with some very challenging holes. We played in our club's Mixed Away Day and the hospitality was just great. Thanks!
