Donnington Valley Golf Club
Snelsmore Common
Newbury, P4 RG14 3BG, United Kingdom

The course was re-designed and lengthened between 1998 and 2000, is set in beautiful rolling countryside, and is now a challenging 6353 yards, 18 hole, par 71 from the back tees. Although some of the holes are quite forgiving the closing four holes are regarded as one of the toughest finishes in the country, with water on holes 15-17.

The clubhouse, Snelsmore House, is a Grade II-listed Victorian building that overlooks the 9th/18th green and offers golfers exceptional social facilities.

tough greens. im sure knowing the course better would result in some excellent scores. not too tricky once you've found the fairways

As a medium handicapper, I thought this course was quiet enjoyable. Played it on a Tuesday midday, still reasonably busy but no hold ups on the course. All the locals and the staff were very friendly and offered course advise when asked. The greens are particularly challenging due to their up & down slopes and you need to concentrate on where you drive the ball on the fairways.
Overall a good experience and I will definately be back ;-)

Have we not just played this hole ?

Was the question we asked ourselves many times, All holes are much the same as each other Bland

New greenkeeper has made several improvements to the course and we enjoyed the visit

Many sloping fairways that do not reward a good shot, very congested with slow pace of play

Narrow, difficult Greens. Good condition for year, ground pretty soft right now.
