I am a regular at Basildon for the last 10 yrs or so. In recent years it has been very neglected but the new owner has really turned this course around. The greens are getting very good and the fairways are massively improved. New facilities being built and the East Anglian Open championship being held here in September. You must give it a try.

The course now has new owners (as from Sept 2013)and the turnaround in course condition is unbelievable.Well worth a visit.

Avoid at all costs. This has got to be the worst course I have ever played in terms of condition. The actual design is ok but some of the hole where virtually unplayable because of the condition. I will not be returning .

played here wed 9.5.12. The course is very poorly maintained. The tees resembled a dandelion orchard. Even with recognition of the rain the green keepers obviously dont know where to buy the weedkiller. The bins all around the course were full to the brim and all in all it was a tip. My mate lost his 240yard drive in the fairway. Sadly the course design is actually good and there are some super testing holes-completely spoilt by no TLC. Had a beer in the club house and the guys were a great bunch.

I last played there years ago, excellent course. Yesterday I played there and was sad to see the course has lost its sparkle. Tee and greens are poorly maintained. It hasn't deterred from me to play there thought.
