Wentworth contains three very noteworthy courses, all of which play over rolling Surrey heathland that includes stands of pine, oak, and birch trees.

The East course was the first to open here in 1924 with a design by the notable architect Harry S. Colt.

The West course is a Colt design that debuted in 1926 and hosts the European Tour's BMW Championship. (Some recent renovations were overseen by famous golfer Ernie Els.) One interesting architectural quirk: The 17th and 18th holes are consecutive par-5s.

Former Ryder Cup player and captain John Jacobs designed the Edinburgh Course, which opened in 1990 and currently hosts the annual Wentworth Senior Masters.

Visitors with a valid golf handicap certificate are welcome Mondays through Fridays only, with advance booking. The peak-season rate on the West course is £360, while the Edinburgh and East course fees are £160.

Brilliant course. West is great but I much prefer the East course.

The West course is one of the best inland courses in the UK. A brilliant experience to play there.

Wow what an experince, playing the west and no one can take it away from me, the price paied though for the greens was bad i ve played on better conditioned greens on a pay and play course, which was a great shame

Played the Edinburgh in the hot Sunday in March 12 and were practically the only people there. Go figure. This is a fantastic course that I coudlnt find fault. A once in a lifetime experience (that I intend to play in the afterlife). You need crampons to scale the path comming off the 18th though.

Played the West Course in April. Beautiful day on a super course. Started bogey birdie before the wheels fell off. Felt obliged to put my approach shot to the 18th into the water hazard in front of the green! Plus I got a flyer out of the rough into Ernie's garden! Everyone should try it once. Fantastic greens.
