Cavendish, which opened in 1925, was designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie, and unlike many early courses has not been altered in response to today’s pressures. At 5721 yds off the medal tees, the course remains shorter than many, yet still fulfils MacKenzie's belief that length has nothing to do with the quality of a hole.
Visitors are welcome, but advance booking is highly recommended. The standard walking rates are £25 on Sundays through Fridays, then £40 on Saturdays (carts are £25).

Don't be put off by the first three holes, this is a great course. Wonderful views across the countryside with challenging tee shots and receptive greens. Put this on your list for a tour de Derbyshire.
