Hankley Common has been described as one of the best inland courses in all of Great Britain. The course opened in 1897, but five-time Open champion and prolific architect James Braid designed some changes that were implemented between 1921 and 1923. Then, architect Harry S. Colt lengthened the course further and made other changes, implemented between 1933 and 1935.

Visitors are welcome at £90/round or £110/day on weekdays, then £110/round after 2:00 p.m. on weekends and public holidays. Twilight, junior, and guest-of-member rates are available, as are memberships. Societies are also welcome with prior arrangement.

one of, if not the best in the South of England

Very well presented course. Lovely greens and the holes were varied and interesting. I'll definitely be back, thoroughly enjoyed it.

An absolutely fantastic golf course. One of the best in the UK - a real gem. In my view, as classy as some of the best known Surrey courses. A beautiful course set in acres of land. Every hole is a treat; from linksy feeling holes, to heathland and parkland. I cannot wait to return!

Played on 27/4, fantastic course, amazing scenery, good food and friendly. Greens were a little below what you'd expect, had a fair bit of sand which made judging pace tricky, but would guess thats due to treatments on them recently.
