Located in the foothills of the Southern Alps, this is generally regarded as one of New Zealand's better courses. The design was by Sid Puddicombe's architecture firm and opened in December 2001 and features a parkland-style layout with some links flavor. Four sets of tees stretch the course from 5,278 to 6,406 meters, all of which play over and around eleven lakes and 70 bunkers. Views of Rakaia Gorge include the signature hole (16), which plays to the side of the gorge and includes views of the Rakaia River and the towering Mount Hutt.

Visitor rates range from NZ$85 to 130; carts are $50. NZ and Australian affiliated golfers between $35 and $80, depending in the season. Group and corporate outings are also welcome.
