Puttenham is one of the oldest clubs in Surrey, a blend of heathland and woodland designs that dates to 1894. For many decades, the course was a 9-hole layout, but following the purchase of additional land, architect Donald Steel was brought in to redesign the original nine and design the second nine, which opened in June of 1990. The course measures 6,220 yards with a par of 71 from the white tees and 5,784 yards with a par of 70 from the yellow tees. With predominantly sandy soil, drainage is good enough to permit play year-round, weather permitting.

Visitors are welcome with advance booking on weekdays, then on weekend afternoons. The standard weekday fee is £40, although various specials may be available on occasion. Societies are also welcome with prior arrangement.

Only managed 5 holes on the week prior to Club Championships due to heavy rain and intermittent thunderstorms, shame.

I look forward to going back and finishing the remaining 13 holes.

A very pretty course, with mostly tree lined holes. Not very long, but tricky as all holes have some form of dogleg or obstructions
