This is a private members-and-guests-only club located on 180 acres of rolling hills and mature pines adjacent to the Rideau River (hence the club name), about 25 minutes from downtown Ottawa.

Canadian-born architect Howard Watson designed the first nine holes here, which opened in 1957, while C.E. 'Robbie' Robinson designed the second nine that debuted in 1963. Another Canadian architect, Ian Andrew, oversaw a renovation of the bunkers in recent years, while the clubhouse was overhauled in 2007.
