This parkland-style course was born out of an unforgettable event - the Great Storm of October, 1987 that most British forecasters and meteorologists botched. When the storm was over, this land in Kent became more receptive to a golf course, which opened in May of 1997.

Visitors and societies are welcome on weekdays, the visitor walking rate is £38 Mondays through Thursdays, and £45 on Fridays.

This course has updated information like phone, address, description or scorecard and is pending approval. These changes must be approved before they will be available on a SkyCaddie.

The value score of 5 stars should be read in the light of a Groupon voucher which allowed my friend and I to play for £29 (total).

It's a beautiful course, but really, REALLY hard!

That last sentence can be taken in light of us being not very good at golf, but still, this is easily the hardest course we've ever played.

I'm a member at Westerham and therefore a little biased, however I joined because it was simply one of the best courses south of London.

It is demanding (there are no flat holes) and full of trouble so I can see that some high handicappers may find it daunting. Everyone should find it enjoyable and on a nice day the views are stunning. There is a lot of variation between holes and a good mix from the non-taxing to the very demanding. The whites also make the course much harder than the visitors tees, presenting some trick drives on occasion.

Also worth a mention are the excellent practice areas. The short game area is the best I've seen.
