Whispering Winds of Warren
Warren, MB, Canada
204.322.5104
Previously known as South Interlake, Whispering Winds of Warren is located a short 21 kms from the junction of the Perimeter Highway and Provincial Highway No. 6. The golf course has just celebrated its 20th anniversary and is becoming one of the unsung jewels of the Interlake area. The golf course features 18 holes of golf to challenge all levels of players, a driving range, fully stocked Pro-Shop and a full service Club House capable of hosting tournaments of up to 140 golfers.
Whispering Winds of Warren was conceived over a cup of coffee one day in 1983 by Jim Laird, Grant Johnson, George Henry, and Lorne Reimer. Their dream of an 18 hole golf course just outside the town of Warren, Manitoba was an ambitious one for such a small community. An option was secured on 160 acres of land one-half mile east of town. The golf club incorporated and the sale of charter memberships was initiated in order to provide funding for the project. Our first Honourary Life Member, Mr. Toby Wilson was instrumental in ensuring the sale of these initial charter memberships. The patience, persistence, and labour of these and many other individuals resulted in the first nine holes being opened for play in September, 1987. An expansive ranch style clubhouse was to follow a year later. By 1992, the second nine holes was opened for play and the dream had been realized.
