This Jim Fazio-designed course opened in 1999 and has hosted nine LPGA Tour Championships; the list of winners include Annika Sorenstam, Karrie Webb, and Lorena Ochoa. TIGC has also hosted two editions of the ADT Skills Challenge, televised by NBC and won by Nick Faldo and Peter Jacobson. It is a tremendously tough course; the back tees are rated at 76.8 with a slope of 155 - the maximum under the USGA rules.

One historical link is part of this course; the tee at #2 was built over President John F. Kennedy's bomb shelter, which dated to his presidency (1961-63).
