This 36-hole club was designed by architect Frank Pennink and opened in 1973 amidst thousands of pine trees on Portugal's west coast, some 25 km south of Lisbon. Aroeira's Course #1 hosted the Portuguese Open in 1996 (Wayne Riley, AUS) and 1997 (Michael Jonzon, SWE) and a number of Portuguese Ladies Opens. Course #2 is a Donald Steel design that opened in 2000 and has hosted LET Qualifying School, as well as the Portuguese Ladies Open.
Visitors are welcome; the standard walking rates are €60 on weekdays, then €90 on weekends and holidays (carts are €38). Junior, 9-hole, and same-day replay rates are available, as are memberships.
