This parkland-style course is located in Cape Breton Highlands National Park, along the Clyburn River. This somewhat unusual layout includes two pairs of consecutive par-5s, at 6 and 7, then at 15 and 16. It was designed by the legendary Canadian-born architect Stanley Thompson and opened in 1939. Architect Ian Andrew began overseeing a restoration of the course in 2011.

The course is owned by Parks Canada, so it is very much open to the public. The peak-season (July-September) walking rate is C$90 for adults, C$45 for juniors (carts are C$30). Twilight and shoulder-season discounts are offered.

The course has a toll-free telephone number, 800-441-1118.

This course has updated information like phone, address, description or scorecard and is pending approval. These changes must be approved before they will be available on a SkyCaddie.

Pace of play ruined the day! We were warned that play would be about five hours. Luckily the amazing scenery is there to distract you while you wait.

Great course. Mountain style. The only negative part: a couple of blind shots. Worth playing two times the course to score well.

Rough patches on greens but otherwise amazing!
