This very private club was founded by Oklahoma publishing magnate Edward L. Gaylord, who turned over 500 acres of his family's land into a luxury residential development, with 250 acres set aside for this course, which was designed by Ohio-based architect Arthur Hills. The hybrid parkland/prairie-style course opened in July of 1998, then hosted the Senior Tour Championship in 2001 (Bob Gilder) and 2002 (Tom Watson). Former PGA Tour player Pat Bates serves as the lead golf instructor here.
