Deer Ridge is a very pretty course. Even from the tips, the course is short but there is enough water, bunker, and canyon trouble to give it a little bite. The course winds through dry creeks along grassy hillsides. There are houses, but they aren't much of a distraction. The first hole is the most banal of the 18. It gets interesting after hole 3. The back nine really really shines.
