After some 35 years of being a private club, this course was purchased by the Heather Ridge homeowners association in December of 2010 and opened to the public the following spring. Noted architect Dick Phelps did the original course design when it opened in 1973.

The standard public walking rates are $23 Mondays through Thursdays, then $29 on Fridays, weekends, and holidays (carts are $15/person). Discounts are available for seniors, juniors, and non-resident military members. Various specials are advertised on the club's web site.
