The course looks nice from a distance and is well laid out, but once you get on it you see where there's clearly a lack of money to do standard maintenance. The entire course is bent grass, and the fairways look manicured enough that you could putt all the way from the tee box to the hole. However, once you're standing in the fairway you find that they have significant issues. The fairways were soaking wet in many spots even though it's been near 100 degrees for days and the only rain we've had in the last week was a 15 minute downpour last night. It's almost as though they were over-watered. Also, the turf seems very loose, like you could just pull it up in sheets. The moisture and loose turf leads to plenty of plugged or nearly plugged balls and no roll. My tee shots, for instance, were carrying 210 yards at times, but only rolling about a foot beyond that. With bent grass, they should roll much further.
The course has clearly not been finished, despite being there for years. You have to take your cart on multiple dirt (not gravel) roads to get to the first and tenth tees.
The bunkers were by far the worst part of the course. There are a TON of bunkers out there, but in each the sand was so packed down (and even moldy in spots) that you could just chip out of them. They looked like waste areas.
In all, this is an attractive looking course that isn't worth anywhere near the money you pay for it. A round costs $100 on the weekend. I'm happy I played it once, but I'm not going back.
