Tan-Tar-A offers two courses, both with tree-lined fairways, rolling hills, and views of Lake of the Ozarks. The 18-hole Oaks course is the tougher, full-length track, while the 9-hole Hidden Lakes includes 34 bunkers. Both courses were designed by Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin.

Updating my comments because the traps have been improved and other changes have been made which I think makes this course a 5 Star in my opinion.

Best time to play the course is late spring through early fall.

I always though of The Oaks as the best course at the lake, not anymore. Bunkers hadn't been touched in months, rought was ankle deep, fairways had clumps of mown grass in them.
Service use to be top notch, not so anymore. No one was even around when we got there to play, no one in the clubhouse, no one at the carts, no starter. If you want a free round of golf, try a Tuesday morning, just drop your bag at the curb, take them down to the cart and drive on to the first tee!
