The U.S. Air Force Academy's gorgeous 36-hole facility is named after the 34th President of the United States and is nestled in the foothills of Colorado's Front Range, in what has been described as an "alpine desert." However, access is restricted; customers MUST have a U.S. Government ID Card (active duty military, retired military, Reserves, DOD civilians and USAFA contractors).
The "Blue" course (Robert Trent Jones, Sr., 1963) is one of the top 100 courses in the United States. The Blue is characterized by large, runway-like teeing areas and huge, rolling greens that RTJ Sr. once described as "treacherous." Wildlife encounters with elk and wild turkey are also possible.
The "Silver" course (Frank Hummel, 1977) is a little shorter and narrower, but definitely no less enjoyable than its big brother to the south and east. Besides relieving the pressure of 75,000 annual rounds on the Blue Course, the Silver provides a more equitable challenge to all levels of golfers.

Tough greens on the blue course, fast with many breaks. Gorgeous setting.

Great track! Greens are tougher than they look. EVERYTHING breaks away from the mountains.

Very scenic track. Tricky greens; remember, everything breaks away from the mtns. Conditions were pretty good. Fairways forgiving. A course that you could play everyday & enjoy.
