Some of the practice balls seemed dead. Other than that the coarse is very beautiful with plenty of challenging holes. Nice clubhouse and bar. Pretty new carts too.

Tough greens.

Whitney Oaks is carved out of a beautiful piece of property north of Sacramento. The course features numerous elevation changes, some significant. The layout was engaging and challenging, which is the mark of a solid course design. Besides the million dollar homes lining the fairways, the most interesting feature is the natural rock formations. For example, on hole 15, there is a rock formation in the middle of the fairway! The other interesting fact about Whitney Oaks is it was Natalie Gulbis' home course growing up.

To many blind shots. Need to play several times to either enjoy this venue or realize this course needs a redesign.

Whitney Oaks has a lot of interesting holes. The big problem I have with this course is that houses suffocate almost every hole. It's hard to appreciate the design of the course when suffocated by homes everywhere.
