Coal Creek Golf Course originally opened in 1990 with a design by architect Dick Phelps. However, the course was severely damaged by torrential rains and flooding late in 2013. The City of Louisville finished working with Landscapes Unlimited to redesign and rebuild the course; the course re-opened in the spring of 2015 with design updates by Minnesota-based architect Kevin Norby.
