FROM THE COURSE WEB SITE:
Course architects Jay and Carter Morrish have designed a masterpiece Par 72 Championship layout that meanders through the East Texas piney woods and natural sand washes. The fairways vary from tree-lined to open and offer players a variety of options off the tee. And the large, receptive TifEagle greens reward smart, accurate play. Pine Dunes offers over 7,000 yards of some of the most outstanding golf in Texas, and is a must-play for all golfers.

The staff are fantastic as well as the layout of the course. Just wish that the greens were in better shape.

Played PD on a Wednesday & really enjoyed it. I haven't played many ET courses in the area & was very pleased with PD. The price is fair for the course & appears set up for the novice & scratch players. A few areas needed some work. Greens had just been cross cut & sanded, but overall great experience and I will return for another round.

The only real golf course open to public play in East Texas. A great experience from setting a tee time to the last shot into #18.

C'mon - this is one of the best courses in Texas! From the first shot to the last, you will be tested. In addition to playing damn near every club in the bag, you better bring your A-game with the putter. The greens are very fast but roll true. Really must play the course more than once to understand where to aim your ball both off the tee and into the green as the course maintains a very high shot value. Saying that, you can hit driver from most holes with a couple of true risk-reward holes out there that forces you to really consider your club selection. For a little over $60 (under 4 hour round) for the round this is a value when playing a course that isn't interrupted by planes, trains or automobiles. Note - There was a fungus on the first two greens but it was a visual concern only - no impact to putting. Some minor conditioning issues (fairways/tees), a maintenance staff that is to visible on a Friday, and that it isn't as friendly to women (namely the wife) as most (one toilet on whole course) drops it a star on overall ranking. Ranks with Belvedere in Charlevoix and The Tennessean in Paris as my most recently played favorite courses.
