Coyote Creek was designed chiefly by Peoria native Bruce Borland, an accomplished architect who had worked for Nicklaus Golf Design, and who perished along with Payne Stewart in a tragic plane crash on October 25, 1999. Borland's design is routed through some lovely forested areas, with ten acres of lakes and creeks in play.

The standard rates (with cart) are $33 on Mondays, $43 on Tuesdays through Thursdays, then $53 on Fridays, weekends, and holidays. Twilight, senior, military, 9-hole, and shoulder-season rates are available, as are annual passes.

Another great course in the Peoria are. Great elevation changes on many holes. Challenging design. Bruce Borland left us too soon.

Value: Great value $28 twilight rate after 2PM. Group in front of mentioned they found a deal for $18 a piece w/ a cart.

Pace of play was great for a very hot late summer weekday. the groups ahead were all very courteous and let our faster group play through.

Maintenance: Tee boxes, not very good. I got the impression the the budget isn't very big for upkeep. Either that or there are a lot new golfers taking large divots. Almost every tee box was in shambles. Found the fairways in acceptable condition and the greens were rolled true, but not overly fast. Bunkers were hard and packed. Recent hot and dry conditions may have contributed.

Scenery: Good, but ruined by a few houses along the first and last holes.

Shot value and variety : The course had several short par 4's from the blues, listed at 6225. Balanced out by several 400+ yd par 4's Only 3 par 3's perhaps
Par 5'2 lacked some variety as all are around 525 yds. Mostly a wooded/parkland style course with a few links style holes mixed in. Good bunker placement.

Amenities: water station about every 3 or 4 holes. didn't notice permanent restrooms, perhaps I missed them if they were portable type. 9th hole doesn't come too close to clubhouse. No bev. cart service.

Pro Shop: lightly stocked equipment. The usual apparel offerings

Clubhouse: Small snack bar, didn't check it out the whole clubhouse. Nice looking banquet facilities.

Overall: Could be a great course amongst the likes of nearby Weaver Ridge if the
maintenance improved. Added to my list of good courses in the area.

Online tee times available on their web site. Deals available on Golf Now.
